“There has been an infatuation with the mathematical predictive financial model. This idea that we can understand our whole world mathematically. The world is obviously much more complex”.
It is truly impossible to predict the future, however, we spend a huge amount of energy trying to generate predictive models that will tell us where we are going. We already failed in 2008. Why haven’t we learned?
Rafael and I discussed why the successful banker today is truly at the end, the one who sells something that is inconsistent with reality, which is peace of mind about the future. Risk is too invisible for clients, for asset managers to be able to present it in a clear way. So what do you do?
